A Summer Wedding in Central London: An Unforgettable Day
Some weddings are magical, and then there are those that go above magic itself. My bride and groom’s Central London wedding, held at the height of summer, was a masterpiece of love, a lot of laughter, and stunning good taste! From the grandeur of St Pancras Hotel to the historic charm of a St John’s Wood church, all the way to the breathtaking beauty of Wrotham Park, this wedding was a dream from start to finish.

Lauren and Andrew were married in Saint John’s Wood, in London and had their luxurious Wedding Reception at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire. Firstly, however, Lauren had to get ready and for this she chose the five star St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in Central London, with it’s wonderful Gothic metalwork and amazing sweeping staircase - used for the Spice Girls Wannabe video! To be honest, I’m fairly sure that the Spice Girls video was the deciding factor in the location choice. Plus that and the fact that the bride stayed in the Royal Suite at the hotel, large enough for the Bride and some of her Bridesmaids to stay the night before the wedding.

Lauren had Kate Hughes’s team do her hair and make up. I’ve worked with Kate many times and have known her for many years - she is amazing! Lauren wore a couture dress by Suzanne Neville.

One of my favourite moments was when the Bride’s flower girl asked why Brides wear a wedding garter - who knows?!

The veil was put on by the fabulous Kate and assisted by the Bridesmaids, then off to the church, not breaking the speed limit once, honestly.

The Groom and his Groomsmen had chosen to wear light blue suits with classic white rose buttonholes. The church had been fully decorated by the leading luxury florist Mary Jane Vaughan, the smell of the white rose clusters was truly wonderful. I have experienced the energy of Mary Jane several times - she is absolutely lovely, and unusually, smaller than me, which makes me as a slight short Scottish woman, very happy!

I love the bride’s walk down the aisle. This is the point that the day has led up to. The Father of the Bride brought Lauren to her Groom who stood nervously at the top of the aisle - would he turn round to catch a first glimpse of his bride - of course he would!

So many smiles, so much love!

To leave the church, the bride and groom chose to boogie down the aisle. It was fantastic! The very traditional vicar was a good sport.

Then off to Wrotham for the Wedding Reception - after much confetti and kissing of course.
Arriving at Wrotham Park

For the wedding reception, celebrations moved to the magnificent Wrotham Park, a stately home in Berkshire - often used as a television and film location. Its grand halls and corridors, adorned with some very impressive artwork and period features, elevating the day’s elegance even further.
Guests were greeted with champagne and canapés on the terrace, enjoying the sweeping stone staircase into the gardens and the views of the lush estate grounds. Inside, tables were set with exquisite floral centrepieces, glass topped tables and candlelit details, creating an intimate, romantic atmosphere.Wrotham Park is a Palladian Mansion, set in the heart of a 2500 acres estate located in Hertfordshire. I took my bride and groom off to take advantage of the captivating grounds of Wrotham. I am always quick and returned Lauren and Andrew back to their wonderful guests enjoying the wedding reception in the grounds.

Just before the guests were called in to enjoy the Wedding Breakfast, the bride and groom made their way into the Banqueting room to see the fabulous set up. Lauren had chosen the luxury London based wedding planner Cranberry Blue, to plan all the elements of her day.

The Speeches commenced after the wedding breakfast. Between the Bride’s father’s hat changes routine and the double act of the Best Men everyone had a great time.

As the evening unfolded, the dance floor came alive – these guys like to party in Ibiza. The music kept energy levels high, and the laughter and joy that filled the room were nothing short of infectious.

From the grandeur of St Pancras Hotel to the charm of St John’s Wood, and the splendour of Wrotham Park, this wedding was a perfect blend of elegance, warmth, and personality. It was an unforgettable summer day in London, and one that will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to be a part of it.
