Warren House was the setting for Lynda and Andy’s wonderful early summertime Wedding Reception. Warren House is a beautiful historic Victorian hotel set within five acres of perfectly stunning landscaped gardens tucked away in Kingston-Upon-Thames in Surrey. It is also 5 miles from my home!
My bride Lynda asked to meet me at the church. The stunning St Raphael's Church is a glorious church located on the banks of the Thames in Kingston-Upon-Thames,Surrey. As a Scot, Lynda had a Piper to bring her into the church. I remained at the back, as requested by the Priest and photographed the ceremony in all its glory. The exterior of the church was being refurbished at the time and was covered in scaffolding, although, for the wedding album, I popped back a few weeks later when it was restored to its former self.
The Bride arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce.
After the ceremony the Bride and Groom dashed across the road for some casual portraits by the towpath along the Thames.
Then back to the church to be transported to Warren House in a vintage Rolls Royce wedding car.
On arrival at Warren House, all of the Bride and Groom’s friends came to the front of the hotel to greet the newly married couple and throw confetti - many rose petals were sacrificed that day!
The grounds of Warren House are set within five acres of peaceful landscaped gardens, and strangely, on the several times I’ve attended Warren House it has never rained.
Lyda works as a fashion director so her guests were super stylish. I was mesmerised by some of the amazing shoes! Sadly, when working as a wedding photographer, I can only look at stunning high heeled shoes with envy from my practical flats.
As the Wedding Reception continued we were keen to investigate the Secret Garden of Warren House. It was June and the beautiful red poppies were in flower along with a myriad of daisies and wild grasses.
The Wedding Breakfast was set out beautifully in whites and greens and neutral tones.
The couple had a jonty Adam and Eve topper to their Rose petal wedding cake.
The speeches were a mix of supportive, love and downright mockery after Andy’s past profession as the Wimbledon FC Goalkeeper was mentioned by his ‘Best Men’ - they can be mean sometimes, but all in jest!
There was a short pause for cigars and evening air before the couples First Dance and the partying began!
Lynda and Andy review of my services said
We used Gill for our wedding photography back in 2009 in Kingston-upon-Thames. She really got us as a couple and understood the natural and spontaneous style that we wanted. We were married in a traditional church on the river and a stately hotel on the Hill and she captured really special moments of the day - the big ones and more intimate ones. After her great ‘eye’ the best thing was her ability to blend into the day - getting shots of our friends and family without them noticing as well as quiet fun moments that are our favourite memories of the day. Thank you Gill! ⭐️
